NEWAYS - A GOOD CORPORATE CITIZEN

Neways is privileged to be in a position to give back to community projects and disaster relief efforts as part of the process of being a good corporate citizen. It is truly your efforts that have made it possible for us to contribute to these worthwhile and deserving causes. We also recognise that many distributors also give generously to support efforts in many parts of the world, independently of collective Neways efforts, and for that we wish to also say a BIG thank you.

Auckland Westpac Helicopter Trust

When presenting our annual $5,000 donation to the Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust, we were given an opportunity to take a tour of the helicopter operation and participate in their helicopter flight simulator. It’s such a pleasure to assist a great team who work together to help others. This was an amazing experience and the team at Neways thanks you.

Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust Mission:

“To ensure that the communities of the greater Auckland region have the security of a professional, efficient emergency air ambulance, search and rescue service available to them anytime”

As well as Auckland Westpac Helicopter Trust Neways New Zealand has for years supported many other charitable and community organisations in New Zealand including annual donations to:

  • Women’s Refuge
  • Remuera Lions Club

  • Plunket Appeal

In some cases Neways gift organisations with
our ’actual’ products as in the case of the Te Awamutu Women’s Refuge.

Victorian Bushfires and Queensland Floods Appeal

There is no doubt that everyone is still reeling from the tragedy of the devastating bushfires that befell Victoria and the floods that hit Northern Australia. It is difficult to imagine the heartache and pain that so many Australians have had to endure. “The human losses are unimaginable and a real tragedy, and our hearts go out to their families,” said Andy Kirss, Managing Director of Neways Australia. “People have also lost their homes, their clothes, their cars, their livestock, their pets and all their worldly goods. Their lives will be affected for a long, long time to come.”

As many of you would know, Neways supports many worthy causes every year and the Bushfire Relief is no exception. In response to the tragedy, Neways Australia issued a call to Neways distributors across the nation to help render assistance through the Red Cross and the Salvation Army. We know that many raised money at local meetings as well as made generous personal donations − we thank you. In addition, Neways Australia committed a $10,000 cash donation to support the relief efforts. It is now timely to give a huge bouquet to all the volunteers who have willingly given their time and energy in our time of need. There are many heroes out there and we sincerely hope they get the praise they deserve; a big “Thank you!” to all involved.
Neways distributors have always risen to the occasion and supported many worthwhile causes over the years – this one is as important as any we have ever supported. Please continue to offer support as this type of tragedy will require much healing time and love for all those affected.

Sending Some Durian Goodness Back To Thailand

In an effort to give back to the land of the durian fruit, Neways will donate a percentage of Durian Fusion™ proceeds to help prevent human trafficking in Thailand and assist affected women and children. As an opening gesture, Eric presented a $10,000 check to Senator Mechai Viravaidya, who in 1974 founded the Population and Community Development Association, or PDA. As one of Thailand's largest, most successful private non-profit development organizations, PDA has initiated community-based family-planning services, innovative poverty-reduction programs, large-scale rural development and environmental programs, and HIV/AIDS prevention activities. With Neways' help, PDA is now preparing to introduce groundbreaking anti-human-trafficking programs in Thailand and surrounding areas.

"Neways is proud to announce the new partnership with Senator Mechai to further his efforts in assisting families in Thailand and neighbouring countries," says Eric Larsen. "What started as a grass-roots program for HIV/AIDS prevention has now grown into one of the largest organizations in assisting individuals and families. Senator Mechai and the PDA are a great inspiration to us all and we are proud to work with him and his organization."

Neways Contributes Products to Hurricane Relief Efforts and $10,000 to the American Red Cross

In response to the destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina, Neways International has contributed $10,000 to help the local and national efforts of the American Red Cross. Garr Judd, Executive Director of the Mountain Valley Chapter of the Red Cross, accepted the donation at the annual Volunteer Recognition Event on Saturday, September 17, 2005.

“The American Red Cross is the way local partners make a difference,” said Judd. “We are extremely grateful to Neways International for being good neighbours to those people who have been displaced by disasters. This gift will help make sure that our neighbours, no matter where they live, will be taken care of.”

“Neways is committed to supporting organizations like the Red Cross who have proven to provide long term aid in any emergency,” said Rick Evans, Sr. VP of Communications for Neways. “Neways is proud to stand up with so many other companies and make a difference in our nation’s communities. Our customers and employees take pride in knowing they can help those in need.”

In addition to this cash donation, Neways has donated more than 50,000 bottles of personal and nutritional care products, such as shampoo, toothpaste, soap and vitamins, to victims of Hurricane Katrina. Neways has and will continue to support the Red Cross and other humanitarian efforts in their ongoing mission to save lives.
